Makin's Blog Hop

 Faux Leather Bracelet

I am very excited to take part in the Makin's Clay Blog Hop.  My project is super easy to create.  Fast to create too.

You know that individual water bottle that you are tossing into the recycle bin?  Take the top and bottom off one bottle.  Then, slip the cut bottle onto your wrist like you would a bracelet.  Is it too large? Cut the bottle and tighten it as much as you need.  Then, use masking tape to secure the bottle to the right width.

Roll out the clay and cut it to 2 by 7-inches.  Place the texture sheet on top of the cut clay and use the roller to impress the texture into the clay.

Wrap the clay around the bottle so it is like the shape in the above photograph .  If they clay is too long, cut the clay to match the bracelet in the photograph.  Press the ends lightly to bond the clay ends together.

Roll out a piece of clay and use the rectangle cutter to make the rectangle.  Press the rectangle onto the bracelet to secure it.  Press the Snap in Style embellishment onto the rectangle.

Now, here's the hard part.  Let the clay dry for 24 hours.  Once the clay is dry, you slip it off the bottle and onto your wrist.

The beauty of this clay is that the bracelet really looks like it is made of leather.  Only you will know the true material.

  5. I esp like the idea of using what I toss everyday, plastic water bottles. This looks just like real leather!

  6. Hi I recently bought this clay cause I saw a sample piece of it when it is dried and i love the leather look to it. I am not a fan of clay but I was so impressed that I bout some. Now my issue is that I do not have any of the tools, so how best can i achieve a nice look without having the tools?
