Sizzix® Bigz™ XLDie - Gift Card Holder with 3-D For You, Pop-Up Die

Tis the season to create your Christmas cards and Karen’s For You Pop-up Die is what you need to showcase that special Christmas photo.
You’ll get the best of both worlds with this die because it’s made for gift cards. It can be altered, as seen here, to be used with photographs as well.
The paper I used on the card is my batik paper. The instructions for making the paper can be found in my Layered, Mixed-Media Collage article in the January 2011 All-Star Issue of Scrap and Stamp Arts magazine. You can substitute any holiday scrapbook paper.
The heart balloon rubber stamp isn’t a Christmas image, but I love this stamp and wanted to work it into the design to remind you to think about using your rubber stamps in new ways.
Here, it gives the card a child-like quality, which works with the photograph.
Pretty Pink Sparkles
A few weeks ago I won a great die by Eileen Hull (Thanks, Eileen). My four-year-old niece picked out the glittery paper colors that we used to make the purse.
I added a soft-pink ribbon for the handle and matching bow. I think she showed a good eye for color.

I found these cute shoes last week and wanted to give them a little bling. Sometimes, you really don’t need a lot to make a shoe extra special. And, what girl doesn’t love shine and sparkle? It was easy with Liquid Fusion™ from ILovetoCreate.com and Tulip’s® Iron-on Glass Crystals™. Just use the Liquid Fusion™ to glue the crystals to the shoes.
Christmas Tradition
My Mom, Anna May Petrone-Marchelitis is a talented woman. She used to make all our clothes and even made a few Tuxes for the guys in our family.
My Mom’s family has a tradition of creating Christmas villages under our Christmas trees. This tradition was started by her grandmother, Angela Maria Spadafora-Lopetrone, and continued by my Mom’s Mother, Julia Fiehl-Petrone.
After my grandmother died, the items from Gram’s tree were divided among her children. Those are special items now under Mom's tree.
Christmas has always been a special occasion in our family, thanks to my Mom’s creative talent. Love you, Mom.
