Crafting Summer Fun
June Designer Connections Blog Hop: Patriotic Necklace
Summer is the best time for crafting outdoors.  Your craft projects should be manageable so you are not using a suitcase to haul your craft supplies from your craft space to your patio.  Look for projects that are portable, can be easily created, and still maintain the high-quality results that you desire.

This patriotic jewelry necklace is perfect for that alfresco-crafting experience because it meets all of the above criteria.  There are a few supplies needed, it’s fast and easy to make, and the results are chic.

There are times when crafters will use double-stick tape to create rosettes like the ones in this necklace.  I use Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue®, from ILoveToCreate because it gives the rosette strength and provides a strong bond.  Yes, the people from I Love To Create™ do provide me with Aleene’s® Original Tacky Glue® for my projects, but I do purchase this glue for my personal projects and for my Mom’s house.  This is my “go-to” glue for paper crafting.

Everyday life can be quite interesting, even when it’s routine.  My cousin, Brienne Higgins, is a very talented new writer whose column on Examiner.com will captivate you.

Her unique way of thinking about being a wife and mother, whether or not you agree with it, is very entertaining.  She has a fresh point of few that will make you want to read more of her work.  Make sure to bookmark her column and visit it regularly because you will want to read every word.

This is the description from her column:
“Brienne Higgins is a new wife and mother with very unique and honest insights on the good, bad, and real aspects of family life. She has one 5 month old little boy and another child on the way. She knows the real concerns and situations of the modern wife and mother.” -  http://www.examiner.com/marriage-advice-in-tulsa/brienne-higgins
